Why flexRep

You left another tracker, or a spreadsheet.
Here’s what you get instead.

flexRep is a strength logger for self-programming lifters — fast in the gym, honest in the analytics, and built natively on the Apple stack. It logs a set in one tap or one sentence, writes every set to Apple Health, runs its analysis and AI on-device with no server, and lets you export everything, free, forever. Not a social network. Not a coaching plan. A serious tool that gets out of the way.

We'll let you know when there's room.

Four reasons

What actually makes it different.

Not a feature count. Four structural commitments the incumbents can’t easily copy, because each is a consequence of building Apple-native and running no server.

SPEED

One tap, or one sentence.

Quick Log opens straight to the steppers on every fresh install — no wizard, no profile prompt. A same-as-last-set is one tap; a weight change is two. Or hold the mic and say “two-twenty-five for five.” The set never waits on a heavyweight sheet.

PRIVACY

On-device. No server. No subscription to leave.

There is no flexRep backend. Your data lives on your device; speech and AI run on-device; sync runs through your own private iCloud. One-time purchase unlocks the on-device app — a subscription is only ever for server-backed sync, never for logging or export.

Where your numbers live →
APPLE HEALTH

Every set in Apple Health. Not just the workout.

Most lifting apps write a black-box envelope to Apple Health — duration, calories, type. The per-set detail dies on the way. flexRep writes every set, with weight, reps, RPE, and set type carried as HKWorkoutEvent metadata, two ways.

The Apple stack →
OWNERSHIP

Free export. Now. Forever.

CSV (two formats), JSON, and a checksummed .flexrep bundle cover every set you’ve ever logged — with no paywall and no missing columns, including bodyweight, added-load, and assist-load. Importers from Strong and Hevy are first-class. No lock-in, by design.

The export, in detail →
Honest comparison

flexRep vs. the apps you’ve tried.

Pricing and the most-cited complaints are drawn from public sources and reviews, 2026. We’d rather you see the trade-offs than discover them after you’ve moved a year of data.

Competitors move fast — if something here is out of date, tell us and we’ll fix it. The point isn’t to win every row. It’s to win the ones a self-programming lifter actually cares about.

When to pick something else

Where flexRep isn’t the right tool.

Naming who it isn’t for is how you know who it is for. If any of these is you, a different app will serve you better — and we’d rather say so now.

  • You want the app to write your program. flexRep is a logger and an analytics layer, not a coach. Fitbod, JuggernautAI, or Boostcamp will pick your exercises; flexRep assumes you already do.
  • You want a social feed and a follower count. There isn’t one, and there won’t be.
  • You’re on Android, or you want a web app. flexRep is Apple-native, on purpose — that’s the whole point.
  • You want the largest program library in the category. Boostcamp ships 130+ expert programs free; that’s their game, not ours.

Still the one that fits?
