For the bodybuilder

Volume the literature would recognize.

A bench press is more chest than triceps. flexRep weights it like the hypertrophy literature does — primary movers count more than secondaries — and lays the result on an 11-axis radar you can read across a recomp. Drop sets, myo-reps, and clusters are first-class. The volume counter does not lie.

The pitch

Where flexRep meets you.

You measure progress in weekly sets per muscle and effective reps. You want the receipt to count a drop set as one working set, not three. You want machine instances tracked. Here's how flexRep makes that the path of least resistance.

Fractional sets, the way Schoenfeld counts them.

A bench press credits chest as primary, triceps and front delts as secondary. Weighted fractions. Eleven muscle axes on a radar chart. The polygon's center-of-mass tells you about balance without you having to do the math.

Set types that are real things in the schema.

Drop sets indent under a parent. Cluster sets carry within-cluster rest seconds. Myo-rep chains are first-class. The volume filter drops children out of working-set counts so your weekly numbers don't double-count.

Effective reps tracked separately.

Reps performed close to failure, computed from RPE/RIR. A set of 20 at RPE 6 is mostly cardio. We don't care about cardio sets when you're asking "did this grow tissue?"

The polygon, populated

11 muscle axes. Where your work actually lives.

A worked polygon shows you which heads are full and which are quiet. Hover any axis to see weekly sets, effective reps, and the top three exercises feeding it. The shape changes a little every session. Over weeks, it tells you the truth.

Your highlight reel

Five features doing real work for you.

Out of the The Bodybuilder's thirty-six daily features, these are the ones that earn their seat at the rack.

Fractional muscle radar — fine-grained

11 axes. Primary movers weighted heavier than secondaries. Fine-mapping picks up upper / mid / lower chest, front / side / rear delts, long / short biceps, long / lateral / medial triceps for ~50 high-frequency lifts. Priority muscles get a 1.25× target-band boost during a specialization phase.

Drops, clusters, myo-reps, posing, isometric — all first class

Drop-set children indent under the parent. Cluster sets auto-start a mini rest timer ("Mini-set ready — log next?"). Myo-rep chains are first-class. Posing practice is a real SetType for prep season. Isometric holds carry a duration and (optional) joint angle — flexed positions count.

Pump · Mind-muscle on a 1–5 scale

Bodybuilding-native subjective scales, behind a single toggle. Optional. Persists on backup. Drives a new "Felt the work" filter on the muscle radar — see the sessions where the input actually connected.

Effective reps + hypertrophy-phase awareness

Close-to-failure rep counts per muscle. When >60% of your sets land above 10 reps, the stall classifier reads as "hypertrophy phase," not regressing — a phase deserves a band annotation, not a panic flag.

Per-machine instance tracking

The hack squat at your home gym and the hack squat at the commercial gym aren't the same lift. flexRep tracks them as separate instances without bloating the library.

How it stacks up for a bodybuilder

Hypertrophy-focused apps mostly bolt volume tracking onto a powerlifting frame. flexRep was designed against the Schoenfeld meta-analyses from the start.

What we won't do for you

Refusals are also features.

  • We don't score "intensity" with a phone gyroscope.
  • We don't double-count drop-set children as working sets.
  • We don't rank you against other users' photos.
  • We don't pretend a bench is 50% triceps.
