← Apple stack Companion logging on the wrist

The phone stays in the locker.

A companion Watch app — Quick Log a set with the Crown and Double Tap, or dictate it on-device. Sets queue durably and arrive on the iPhone when both devices wake, even if the phone is in another room. A live workout session tracks heart rate and energy. The fuller standalone watchOS surface is on the roadmap, not in this build.

The four points

What this actually does, in flexRep.

01 / 04

Quick Log a set from the wrist.

Log the exercise the phone handed off — weight, reps, set type — and queue it durably for the iPhone. Heavy single, hands chalked, no need to dig the phone out of the bag. (The full exercise library and editing live on the phone for now.)

02 / 04

Crown for entry. Double Tap to log.

Spin the Crown for weight and reps — the native gesture for numeric entry. Double Tap logs the set without reaching for the screen. No tap-typing on a tiny display.

03 / 04

Voice dictation on-device.

"225 by 5." Parses through the same on-device speech recognizer the iPhone uses. No server round-trip. Useful when chalk is the only thing on your fingers.

04 / 04

A durable one-way queue.

Sets you log on the wrist queue through a Watch crash, airplane mode, or the iPhone being out of range — and arrive cleanly when both devices wake. Full field-level two-way sync is planned for a later release.

Where we stop

Four refusals on this surface.

  • We don't paywall Watch logging.
  • We don't require the phone to be open to log.
  • We don't fire-and-forget Watch messages.
  • We don't pretend the companion app is the full standalone app yet.

Tap your wrist. Log the set.
